“I thank all of you for being here and celebrating this occasion with me,” Magbanua told the parishioners.
He also thanked them for the monetary donations they provided to the family of Armando Alampayan, a 30-year-old farmer who drowned while spearfishing last week. Alamapayan worked for his aunt.
After the Mass, food was served in the church’s social hall.
“We wanted Fr. Magbanua to see that the Filipino community loves him and is supportive of him,” one of the parishioners said.
Marco Maharillo said he is hoping that the priest will remain on island for a long time.
Magbanua thanked the people who donated food and participated in the celebration.
