according to Hiroyuki Saito, who is the president and general manager of Palms Resort Saipan.
“We have to unfortunately demolish the slides to create a more spacious deck for the poolside and a better view for the Kaenju Restaurant,” he said. “The slides have been there since the opening of this hotel in 1984.”
According to Saito, the public will see more changes with the hotel’s facilities.
Palms Resort will receive half a dozen high-tech telescopes from a company called Vixen in Japan to allow for star observations.
The telescopes will be placed on the veranda that will be created for Kaenju Restaurant.
While inside, restaurant customers and guests will be able to view what the telescopes see through a flat screen television.
Saito said once the renovation process ends Palms Resort Saipan will be more appealing to the local clientele.
The hotel, for example, wants to provide the local community with an affordable yet sophisticated variety of food items.
Tourists, for their part, will be provided with “different and unique things” during their stay at the hotel.
“By the end of this year the resort’s whole new concept should be ready for the public to see,” Saito said.
