Teregeyo is San Vicente’s valedictorian

Teregeyo, who also received other special awards, is the daughter of Roselle and Alfred Teregeyo.

“I feel so happy that I achieved something today,” she told Variety, adding that the knowledge and experiences  she gained at the school will always be kept in her memories.

Her mother said her daughter’s accomplishment was “truly admirable and rewarding.”

“We’re very proud,” she said. |Since the beginning, she showed great interest in her studies and we’re supporting her all the way. She has grown up as a good and determined kid and we’re hoping to see her succeed.”

Niki Teregeyo will continue her studies in the Philippines.

In her remarks during the promotion ceremony, she asked fellow classmates to celebrate “the journey that has just begun.”

“In a few months, we will be going to junior high to continue the quest for our dreams…for our goals. As we do so, we carry with us all of you who encourage us, all of you who are our friends,” she said, adding that as they bid goodbye they should look back with hope that the next year will be another year of celebration.

She offered her award to her parents.

“This means so much to me, as it would to anyone who receives it. Many people helped me in getting his award…their influence and inspiration allowed me to reach where I am now,” she added.

The principal’s awardee or the salutatorian was Hye Young Oh while the teacher’s award went to Kristine Batac.

The top five students were Teregeyo, Oh, Batac, Jill Arada and Matthew Lopez.

Also receiving medals were Dennis de Guia, Colleen King, Matthew Lopez, Jovillelyn Ogoy, Richard Ada, Hannah Alcardo, Ramon Herrera, Sung Jung Kim, Suvana Sablan, Karen Binuag, Chelsea King, Aalieyan Ogo, Jesus Sablan, Jill Arada, Frankie Blas, Jaymie Ivan Sanarez, Jesse Villalon, Jeraldine Castillo, John Duenas, Shanna Mendoza, Joseph Patris and Leeani Villagomez.

San Vicente promoted 128 sixth graders to junior high school during Friday’s ceremony in the school cafeteria.
