On Tuesday, the committee rated the five finalists based on their responses during the interview phase, Variety was told.
The interview was concluded on Friday. Of the seven finalists, two withdrew.
After rating the candidates, the committee submitted the results to the NMC human resource office.
The final result will be submitted today during the board of regents meeting scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
The presidential search committee will endorse two or no more than three names of candidates.
NMC formed the committee in December after the first search for NMC president failed last year.
Lorraine Cabrera continues to act as interim president after Carmen Fernandez was suspended and then fired by the board last year.
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges noted the lack of a permanent president when NMC was first placed on a show-cause status.
NMC is preparing to submit its report to WASC on March 15 concerning the corrective measures it has implemented to get its accreditation re-affirmed.
