One of the parashioners said the “unexpected exit” of Alparce surprised him.
He noted that another Kristo Rai priest, Father Glen Ragsag, was also sent home.
The Kristo Rai Church on Sunday said Alparce left for personal reasons “and nothing more.”
Another parishioner who declined to be identified said whatever Alparce’s reasons are for leaving, he will miss the priest’s straightforward homilies.
“Like Father Ragsag, he is another priest who can say what is on his mind,” the parishioner said.
He said it will be difficult for the church to find another priest like Alparce who does everything he can to make the church a good place for worship and who also extends help to the people.
Five other parishioners interviewed by this reporter expressed their sadness regarding the priest’s departure.
