Last week, the Superior Court dismissed the case without prejudice after the Attorney General’s Office moved for its dismissal because Detective Christopher Leon Guerrero was not able to attend Quitano’s preliminary hearing.
Leon Guerrero has been indicted for extortion in a separate case.
Associate Judge David Wiseman set not bail for Quitano, 25, who has been charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy.
Wiseman scheduled Quitano’s arraignment for Dec. 7, while a preliminary hearing will be held on Nov. 25.
Detective Jesse J. Stole has filed a declaration of probable cause in support of the issuance of an arrest warrant against Quitano.
Quitano escaped on getaway vehicle after he and Marlon Martin robbed the pawnshop and injured two of its employees.
Martin was arrested by police while trying to flee.
Zhang Zhuo Fan, for his part, was arrested for being the driver of Quitano’s getaway vehicle, police said.
