Representatives of PDM Promoters, led by its president Misako Kamata, handed the donation to Japanese Consul Tsutomu Higuchi at his office yesterday afternoon.
Sonia Siwa of PDM Promoters said the donation represented the total amount they raised for the whole period of the Stamp Rally Campaign #12 which ran from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2011.
During the campaign, participating businesses sold silicone wrist bands with the Saipanda logo and the words “Pray for Japan” to locals and tourists for $3 per piece.
Siwa said they will continue to raise funds for the disaster victims.
“The fundraising will continue until March 31, 2012. PDM Promoters supports the efforts of the CNMI community to help Japan in this time of need,” Siwa said.
She added that PDM Promoters greatly appreciates the support and cooperation of business partners that assisted in the distribution of the wrist bands. These included Aglaia Restaurant, Ananas, Country House Restaurant, Crazy Toy, Furusato Restaurant, Kinpachi Restaurant, Convenience Kinpachi, Lavi Duty Free, Moby Dick Restaurant, Pacific Development Inc., Tony Roma’s Restaurant and Cappricciosa.
