Fajardo is the commander of Saipan Post 3457. He earned the coveted All-American distinction for his leadership in surpassing recruiting goals and service to the community.
Being named an All-American places Fajardo in the top 20 percent of over 8,500 post commanders world-wide.
The local post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars also garnered many other honors at the regional convention held in Thailand.
Leslie Jackson was named most Outstanding New Member for the Pacific Areas. John Davis, a past Post 3457commander was named District All-American Commander.
This is the first time that Post 3457 has had All-American District Commander and All-American Post Commander at the same time.
The district is made up of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.
Other awards received by the post include national recognition awards for Outstanding Post Youth Activities Programs Activities, Outstanding Post Community Service Program Activities, Outstanding Post Safety Program Activities, Outstanding Post Voice of Democracy Program Activities, Outstanding Post Teacher Award Program Activities, Outstanding Post Patriot’s Pen Program Activities, Outstanding Post Youth Activities-Scouting Program Activities, Department of Pacific Areas Certificate of
Achievement for outstanding and recruiting and program support.
The Veteran’s of Foreign Wars is a fraternal organization of men and women who have served in combat or a hostile fire area.
The VFW’s mission is to support those who sacrifice so much for this country — veterans, those currently serving in the U.S armed forces, and their families, provide veteran’s advocacy, support to troops and families, and provide programs in the community.
Local Saipan Post 3457 home and canteen is located on Beach Road in south Garapan.
