Consul General Medardo Macaraig said they processed 44 ePassport applications, 14 applications for reports of birth and other notarial services.
Several Filipino workers requested assistance in various cases, including financial claims, especially of those whose status will expire in Nov. 2011.
The mobile consular service was conducted at the Rota campus of Northern Marianas College.
The consular team headed by Macaraig included Welfare Officer Julia Fabian, Violaflor Enerlan-Ancheta, Liza Dean, Antonio David and Remily Oca.
Macaraig said the registration for Overseas Workers Welfare Administration membership increased on Rota.
A total of 116 OWWA applications were processed during the two-day service, he added.
“The 2 billion pesos [$46.27 million] livelihood fund that members can avail of in the Philippines is one of the reasons for this increase in OWWA membership,” he said.
He expressed his appreciation to Rota Mayor Melchor Mendiola, the mayor’s wife Estrella Mendiola and the Filipino community of Rota led by Alejandro Badiles.
He also thanked Fr. Charlie Borja of the San Francisco de Borja Parish for the support and assistance extended to the consular team.
During the next consular services, whose date will be announced, qualified Filipino overseas absentee voters who want to participate in the senatorial elections in May 2013 will be registered.
