PIC marketing manager for Web/Russia/CIS Elly Stoilova said the funds they raised included the collections from previous events organized for the Russian tourists at PIC, and also from sales of raffle tickets.
Stoilova said the money will be used to renovate the doors at the orphanage department of Children Hospital #3 in Vladivostok, Russia.
“There are at least 14 doors there that are very old and broken and need to be replaced with new ones,” Stoilova said.
Each door costs about $400 as they are specially made for an orphanage.
The “M-Art” event held at the PIC on Nov. 1-4 brought together many Russian children, including tourists and residents, who enjoyed the performances of three Russian actors and a DJ from “M-Art” theater who led them in cowboy games, pirate treasures hunts, dragon fights at the kingdom of a beautiful princess, seaman adventures, kids’ discos with interactive games and other forms of entertainment.
Stoilova said tickets were sold during the event.
PIC supports an orphanage in Vladivostok which houses over 100 newborn infants and toddlers.
Stoilova said previously, PIC funded the installation of two new windows, built a partition between the pediatric section and the hospital lobby and purchased diapers for babies.
She said PIC will continue to create events to raise funds for the orphanage, and also to continue attracting Russian tourists to the CNMI.
