CUC announced an emergency power outage on Wednesday as part of its ongoing repair and maintenance efforts, he said.
The power outage started at 2 a.m. and ended at 4 a.m., Camacho said, adding that CUC was able to restore the power as scheduled.
During the inspection of the busbar, technicians identified a failed spout had to be replaced to ensure that it would not affect the power supply, Camacho said.
The power outage, he said, was necessary to ensure the safety of all involved in the repair process.
The areas affected were Kiya 1 comprising the southern side of Chalan Kiya, As Terlaje, Northern Marianas College, El Toro, Kannat Tabla, the northern side of Fina Sisu, Airport Road, San Vicente, Obyan, Laulau, the southern side of Papago, lower Dandan, Isley Field, CPA/airport and As Perdido.
Kiya 2 covers As Lito, Chalan Msgr. Martinez Road, Tottoville, portions of Koblerville, portions of Afetnas, the southern side of Fina Sisu, Tun Joaquin Doi Road, San Antonio, As Gonno, Chalan Kanoa District 3, the southern side of District 4, and Chalan Piao.
Kiya 4 comprises the northern side of Chalan Kiya, San Jose/Oleai, Susupe, the northern side of Chalan Kanoa District 4, as well as Districts 1 and 2.
Feeder 2 covers CPA seaport, Boating Safety, Lower Base, Puerto Rico, American Memorial Park, Garapan/Micro Beach hotel area, Garapan/Beach Road south to the Microl intersection.
Feeder 3 comprises Lower Base, Puerto Rico, Sugar King Garapan, China Town, As Felipe, Gualo Rai, Chalan Laulau and the Quarter Master Road.
