Prado and Manglona are top students of KagHS

This year’s valedictorian as well as recipient of the Board of Education Award was Angela Reyes Prado.

Michael John Capito Manglona, the class’s salutatorian, received the Commissioner’s Award.

Ryan So’ Ai Camacho received the Governor’s Award and Suanne Cenizal Camacho, senior class president was presented with the Principal’s Award.

The top 10 students were Delorina Rabauliman, Rita Sarah Taitano, JR Benedicto Lizama, Sherish Marie Nestor, Chakhrit Kapileo, Hanaivy Babauta, Amanda Maria Santos, Ryan So’ Ai Camacho, Michael Jhon Capito Manglona, and Angela Reyes Prado. Honorable mention went to Alexis Hofschneider.

KagHS Principal Alfred B. Ada began the ceremony with his opening remarks.

The Board of Education and Commissioner of Education Rita A. Sablan delivered their congratulatory remarks.

Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan graced the graduates with his keynote address.

“Do not be afraid of failure because failure only comes to those who are seeking to accomplish something,” he says.

He stresses to the graduates that, “your success was inevitable, but more so inevitable is failure […] The real challenge is, when we fail, what will we do?”

The congressman quoted J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series: “It is impossible to live without failure, unless you live so cautiously that you avoid life — in which case you fail by default.”

After receiving their diplomas and turning their tassels, the graduates joined together in chorus to present their school song, “A-Y-U-Y-U,” and senior song, “Today My Life Begins.”

Leila C. Staffler, KagHS vice principal, ended the ceremony with her closing remarks.
