Protest against CUC postponed

Friday.

Irene Tantiado, Coalition of United Workers (NMI) president, said their group will assemble outside the CUC power plant in the Lower Base at 5:30 p.m.

Tantiado is hoping that their protest will dramatize the  sentiments of the community and reach the attention of visiting federal officials

“We will focus only on CUC issues and not on immigration and labor concerns,” she assured.

The Filipino Contract Workers Association, the local group Taotao Tano as well as representatives of the Bangladeshi, Nepalese, Indian communities will participate in the rally.

Members of other community groups and organizations are also expected to support the protest action, Tantiado said.

She is hoping that CUC will send a representative to the rally to listen to the grievances of the protesters.
