Marianas High School teacher and program coordinator Tyce Mister said the fair will start at 1:30 p.m. and end at 3:30 p.m.
The career fair will expose high school students to a variety of careers in the CNMI, he said.
It will also give students and employers an opportunity to meet each other and possibly set up an arrangement for a cooperative training, he added.
“We are looking for businesses with qualified and experienced people to be assigned as a training mentor. This person will be responsible for the student while the student receives on-the-job training at that particular business,” Mister said.
All businesses will have an opportunity to meet the students for evaluation if a training agreement can be reached.
If both parties agree, then a “training agreement” will be provided and signed by the school principal, teacher-coordinator, parent/guardian, student, and employer.
“I encourage businesses to provide incentive pay like stipend, hourly wage, etc. but it is not a requirement for participation,” Mister said.
The student will receive school credits.
