Manglona also sentenced Criselda Coronel Aldan to six months imprisonment, but all suspended.
Aldan was required to pay a $2,000 fine.
However, if she pays $1,000 by Dec. 31, 2010, “it will be deemed fully satisfied,” according to Manglona’s written judgment and conviction order.
Aldan will also write a letter of apology to PSS and the people of the commonwealth.
Aldan will write a one-page letter explaining how her criminal conviction affected her family, the court order stated.
She will pay a $25 court assessment fee within 30 days, a probation fee to be determined by the Adult Probation Office, and $300 restitution to GEC Pawnshop payable after Dec. 31, 2010.
Manglona said Aldan is prohibited from working for the government for 10 years from the date of her conviction. She must obey all federal and CNMI laws.
Assistant Attorney General Russel Lorfing filed the criminal information against Aldan who was represented by Assistant Public Defender Michael Brown.
The AGO charged Aldan with theft by unlawful taking, theft by failure to make required disposition, and removal or possession of government property.
The AGO said Aldan sold a PSS-issued laptop computer, worth $1,200, to GEC Pawnshop on April 12, 2010.
It was not mentioned how much the pawnshop paid for the laptop.
