Public Health releases report

The locally funded report  represents  data collected from 2003 to 2007, although some tables included figures from January to July of 2008.

Villagomez said although the numbers do not fully represent all the health services in the CNMI, the report is an attempt to communicate to the people the available information, and give them a glimpse of how the various programs and services of the department are performing.

He said the report will educate the people and provide a guide to planning agencies and policy makers.

The data were compiled primarily from the records of the Commonwealth Health Center, clinics and other public health programs and services on Rota, Tinian and Saipan, Villagomez said.

Public Health according to program analyst Roxanne Diaz, is looking forward to the improvement of its data infrastructure and a closer data sharing with private clinics, Rota and Tinian.

During the press conference yesterday, Villagomez and other Public Health officials recognized artists Nhorleen Bitco, Marconi Calindas, Jeanne Rayphand, John H. Davis Jr., Greg Ellliot and Robert H. Hunter for their artwork that was included in the report.

The members of the committee that prepared the report are Roxanne Diaz, Edward Diaz, Carol Paez, Arielle Buyum and Isidro Ugarto.
