“I am happy to turn over the book donations. This is my ongoing project to help the children and youth in the CNMI,” said cancer survivor Angelray “Bo” T. Guerrero in an interview with the Variety.
He said more book donations from Hawaii will arrive on island.
He said he chose the public library so that many people, especially the children and the youth, will benefit.
“The children’s books are in good condition,” said Public library’s after school program coordinator Debbie Woodruff.
Woodruff was assisted by Information Technology Center program coordinator Roy Rechebei in receiving the donation on behalf of acting library director Jenny Rospel.
Woodruff thanked Guerrero and his family for spearheading the project.
She said they are now in the process of labeling the donated books which will soon be available at the Children of Our Homeland Center.
The donations are provided through Hawaii state Rep. Glen Wakai’s Reach Out Pacific program and other partners.
Guerrero, who was confined in a Hawaii hospital for more than a year, earlier distributed donations of medical and educational supples to the Public School System and the Commonwealth Health Center.
Guerrero, 14, is hoping to see a children’s playroom at CHC.
