SDA school hosts luncheon for sponsors

SDA school public relations director Angie Perez said they thanked the 25 business establishments on Saipan for their education tax credit contridutions for 2007-2009.

“We are grateful that the community supports our school mission which is ‘Live to learn, live to love, live to give.’ Our school is successful in no small part due to your generosity,” Perez said.

In school year 2009-2010, SDA school is making further steps to contribute to the well-being of the community, she added.

This year, Perez said SDA school will join four community activties including the cleanup on Sept. 18 and the restoration of the local community basketball court in San Antonio next month.

“We will be planting coconut trees in the San Antonio area next week, and the contributions of the sponsors will go a long way to assist these community projects,” she said.

In addition, the contributions of the sponsors will go toward the school’s Worthy Student program.

“This program provides scholarships and other financial support for kids to enable them to join our school,” she said.

Perez said SDA’s other projects include a science laboratory, a student success program, the expansion of the library, and the consolidation of the elementary department and the child development center into one campus.

Perez said the school is hoping to get more ETC contributions.

“We are nearing the end of tax payment period for the third quarter of 2009 and we are inviting more sponsors to make ETC contributions for SDA school,” she said.

“We can assure our sponsors that every penny of their contributions goes to benefit the students.”
