Celina C. Foreman of Joeten-Kiyu said parents or guardians must visit the library to register their children.
Foreman said interested applicants must present their valid Joeten-Kiyu Public Library card and tmust be cleared of all library obligations.
Those who do not have a library card can apply for it immediately, provided they show proof of address, such as a postmarked mail, billing or letter, and a valid identification.
The Summer Reading & Cultural Fair is filled with fun and educational activities, such as movie nights, special guests, read aloud and craft, homework center, website research, and will feature local authors reading their books in the vernacular.
“This year’s highlighted activity will feature the Humanities Council hosting various activities every Thursday on different subjects such as history/archeology, literature and art history,” Foreman said.
All programs are free of charge.
Last year, over 60 children joined the Summer Reading and Cultural Fair program during which for the first time, the library fused culture and health programs under the theme “Make a Splash.”
Established on Dec. 21, 1991, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library has over 30,000 registered users and houses a collection of over 70,000 books, DVDs, and other reference materials.
