KOROR (Palau Horizon) — President Tommy Remengesau will again visit Japan to meet with key officials of the Japanese government and discuss possible cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The president is scheduled to meet with Foreign Affairs Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi and other Japanese Cabinet officials.
Remengesau will also meet with the Japanese actress Kawashima Naomi, who visited Palau in January. She met Remengesau during her vacation and promised the president to help promote the country as one of the best diving spot in the world.
Remengesau will also meet with officials of media organizations and television networks to better promote Palau as a vacation spot.
Remengesau visited Japan last October to personally promote the local tourism industry following the slump caused by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on America.
Japan is Palau’s primary tourism marker.
Palau is being showcased in a Japanese TV version of “Survivor.”
