Rogolofoi gets 30 days for hitting nephew with flashlight

Superior Court Judge Perry B. Inos imposed a year imprisonment on Rogolofoi, all suspended, except for 30 days.

The court credited 10 days Rogolofoi already served at the Department of Corrections facility.

Rogolofoi will report to Corrections on Jan. 9, 2012 to complete the remaining jail sentence. She will be placed on one year probation upon release from prison.

Rogolofoi admitted the charge of assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

The victim suffered a six-stitch laceration on his forehead as a result of the assault which involved a 12-inch flashlight.

Inos directed Rogolofoi to pay a $200 fine, a $25 court assessment fee, and a probation fee.

Rogolofoi will complete 100 hours of community work service.

The court scheduled a restitution hearing for March 15, 2012.

The Attorney General’s Office charged Rogolofoi with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.

Police said the victim arrived home a little after midnight. He was told that Rogolofoi went to his house and was mad at the victim’s common-law wife.

Rogolofoi also unplugged power lines that connected to the victim’s house, leaving them without power.

The victim inquired with his auntie why she disconnected power, considering the victim had a new born baby.

Rogolofoi responded that she didn’t care, police said.

The victim immediately reconnected the power line to his house and took out his frustration by disconnecting the power lines  to Rogolofoi’s house, police said.

While holding a flashlight, Rogolofoi confronted the victim, and hit him in the head with her flashlight in the ensuing argument, police said.
