Municipal Council Secretary Vicente M. Calvo told Variety that he will confer with the chairman and the vice chairman so that they can immediately act on the nominations within this week.
The council on April 4 rejected the nominations of Cuthbert Toves and Abraham M. Ogo, but confirmed Ephrem S. Taimanao, Diego M. Songao and Melchor A. Mendiola.
Rep. Victor B. Hocog, Ind.-Rota, said the three commissioners can initiate preliminary talks with prospective casino investors.
But Songao said they have yet to formulate their rules and regulations.
Calvo said the council may hold separate public hearings for the two nominees.
“We can either schedule the public hearing in the morning and another in the evening,” he said, adding that the participation of the people is very vital in the evaluation process of the nominees.
The council has 30 days to act on the nominations, Calvo said.
