Russian ladies at PIC get flowers, chocolates on Women’s Day

PIC’s Russian market manager Elly Stoilova said the Russian ladies received fresh red roses, freshly baked chocolates and greeting cards.

Stoilova said most European countries celebrate International Women’s Day every March 8, but Russia goes further because it celebrates this holiday as a substitute for Mother’s Day.

“The public holiday targets all women, and not just women with children. This is one day where women of all ages celebrate and get pampered with flowers and chocolates by husbands, brothers, fathers and male coworkers,” Stoilova said.

The Russian girls who are hotel guests were not forgotten as they were given special PIC white teddy bears.

As Saipan’s leading hotel that caters to the Russian market, PIC has organized and developed several events to make Russian guests to the island feel special and welcome, Stoilova said.

Last January, PIC hosted two separate parties which were attended by hundreds of Russian guests to celebrate the Russian Orthodox Christmas and New Year holidays.

“PIC carefully follows all major Russian holidays not only to plan future hotel promotions but also to ensure that guests are properly greeted. Whether it is a guest birthday, an anniversary or a national holiday, PIC presents at minimum, an appropriate greeting card for each Russian family staying at PIC,” Stoilova said.

PIC accommodates about 60 percent of all Russian tourists in the CNMI.
