Russian ladies get roses on International Women’s Day

Elly Stoilova, PIC’s Russian market manager, said they distributed over 40 roses and 11 white PIC teddy bears.

The ladies were also treated to free cocktail at the Buoy Bar.

“This holiday in Russia is more important for the women than New Year’s Eve,” Stoilova said.

She said they extended the Hafa Adai spirit and greeted their Russian guests with “S prazdnikom!” which means, “happy holiday!”

Stoilova said in Russia,  International Women’s Day is the equivalent of Mother’s Day.

“It is targeted for all women and not just women with children,” she said.

Women get to choose whether to take a free day or go to work and be pampered with flowers and chocolates by husbands, brothers, fathers and male coworkers.

The International Women’ Day is held every March 8 to celebrate the achievements of women throughout history and across nations. It is also known as the United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace.
