Sablan to lead ESGR Guam-CNMI Committee

Sablan fills the vacancy left when Maj. Gen. Benny M. Paulino, former chair, was asked by Gov. Eddie Calvo to return to the Guam National Guard as its adjutant general.

In his capacity as state chair, Sablan acts as the personal representative of the secretary of Defense and the national chairman for ESGR matters.

ESGR is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972 under the auspices of the secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain active support from all public and private employers for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law, and resolving conflicts between employers and service members.

David Sablan was formerly the committee’s ombudsman director. Richard Arens will now fill that position.

For more information, call Capt. Josephine Blas, ESGR Guam-CNMI Committee’s public affairs director, at 671-735-0456 or 671-483-0324 or email  [email protected].
