THE Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation will confirm today the reappointments of Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance board members Florence Calvo and Eluene R. Baza.
The SNILD Judiciary and Governmental Operations Committee recommends that Saipan Mayor Ramon Blas “RB” Camacho’s reappointments of Calvo and Baza be confirmed, having considered the documents they submitted, the commitment they demonstrated, and the valuable contributions they made to the SHEFA board.
Calvo and Baza’s first two-year terms expired on July 24, 2025. Calvo served as the SHEFA board secretary and Baza as the treasurer.
In his letter to SNILD Chairman John Paul Sablan, Mayor Camacho wrote that Calvo and Baza have provided invaluable insights and leadership throughout their tenure, significantly contributing to the success of SHEFA. Under their guidance, the mayor said, SHEFA has strengthened its commitment to ensuring that the Saipan municipal government continues to invest in the community’s future.
Camacho said the efforts of Calvo and Baza have directly supported the educational advancement of Saipan’s high school students. Their guidance empowers students to pursue higher education and build a brighter future.
The other members of the SHEFA board are Chair Kaelani B. Demapan, Vice Chair Henry Kyle B. Hofschneider, and Guadalupe Attao.
