THE Saipan Humane Society will conduct a free animal clinic at the roundhouse in Songsong, Rota on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., said Ruby Ma, the organization’s clinic manager.
Ma said they will provide vaccinations and sick consultations. Flea and tick medicine as well as dog food will be available. No spay or neuter services will be offered on Rota at the Saturday clinic.
Without specifying the clinic’s capacity, Ma said they will help as many pets as supplies will allow.
“[We’ll help] as much as we can,” she added. “It really depends on how much the community is bringing and how much medicine we have.”
On Rota, the Saipan Humane Society will also conduct a household survey of pet owners to collect data, including the number of dogs in a given household, what breeds are present, and other pertinent information.
Ma said the survey will help inform decisions about the kinds of services they can provide to Rota in the future.
For the Saturday clinic, Ma said the airline tickets for the Saipan Humane Society team were sponsored by Vets Without Borders while room accommodations were provided by Coral Garden Hotel.
