Samoan church leaders plan casino talk

The chairman of the Council of Churches, Reverend Elder Oka Fauolo, said he cannot comment in case it might influence the decisions of other church leaders.

“But every church leader should share their thoughts and views on this matter,” he said.

Oka said the leaders of the Catholic, Congregational Christian Church and Methodist Church have been asked to meet to share their views.

“The meeting will be held on Thursday, April 8 at the ecumenical center at Mulinuu at 9 a.m.,” Oka said.

He said the meeting will only take place on this day “and any decision reached will be relayed to the media and the public.”
