The science fair was held in the cafeteria while the health fair was held in selected classrooms.
Volunteer judge Chailang Palacios said there were over 50 science fair entries.
Science fair competitor Mary Joy Espinosa, a 1st grader, said she presented a fertilization experiment that proves organic fertilizer is a better and safer choice compared to chemical fertilizers.
The winners of the science far will be announced on a later date.
At the health fair, numerous government officials were invited to speak to students from kindergarten to sixth grade.
The participating agencies included the Department of Public Health’s dental clinic, immunization office, diabetes prevention program and HIV/STD prevention office.
Also participating were the Department of Public Safety’s bully prevention program, the Community Guidance Center substance abuse prevention program, Northern Marianas College-Cooperative Research Extension and Education Services, the local Red Cross emergency response team, and the Emergency Management Office.
Rita Carreon, school co-coordinator of the science and health fair, told Variety that the event was a success.
