Event coordinator Hilda Rios said the individual winners were Denise Bicera, from her class, first place; Isaiah Dela Cruz, from Ngirablosh’s class, second; and Christian Espinosa, from the class of Evangeline Galvez, third.
The other members of the winning team were Isaiah Dela Cruz, Novell Dico and Elaiza Suarez.
Rios said they had three categories during the competition — the speed round, an oral examination; the paper pencil, written test; and the team round in which three teams from second grade classes participated.
The students are improving in mathematics as show by their ability to answer the questions independently and as a team, Rios said.
She added that the competition challenged the children to give the correct answers as fast as they could.
