San Nicolas is new House counsel

San Nicolas, a former legislative staffer, will succeed Joseph Taijeron who is moving back to the Attorney General’s Office.

Today is Taijeron’s last day with the LB.

Taijeron used to be a  prosecutor before joining the LB.

His decision to move back to the AGO came after  Edward T. Buckingham was confirmed as the new AG.

San Nicolas will join House chief legal counsel Antonette R. Villagomez in helping the 20 members of the House of Representatives draft legislation, conduct legal research and write correspondence.

LB Director Glenna Palacios-Reyes said her office is in the process of hiring a third legal counsel for the House.

San Nicolas will be in charge of providing legal services to the House  Committees on Judiciary and Governmental Operations, Natural Resources, Commerce and Tourism, U.S. and Foreign Affairs and the minority members.

Villagomez will handle the House Committees on Health, Education and Welfare, Ways and Means, the Youth Congress, the House leadership and the Committee on Public Utilities, Transportation and Communications.
