Department of Public Safety acting spokesman Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr. said DPS received a call on Saturday at about 10:52 p.m. regarding the incident at the Green Island Market, located south of the former San Vicente Head Start Center heading south toward the Dandan homestead area.
Preliminary investigation by Patrol Officer Catherine Pangelinan indicated that one of the two men was armed with a knife.
The armed robbed approached Ha Liang Chen, 33, who was minding the store at the time, held the knife to the back of the victim’s head and demanded money.
Chen, who was not hurt during the incident, handed about $400 cash to the armed robber.
Before exiting the establishment, the armed robber also grabbed a pack of cigarettes and a bottle of liquor.
Blas said the armed suspect was described as local, wearing a dark t-shirt and dark short pants, stands about 5’6”-5’7” and of medium build.
The second suspect, who acted as the look-out, wore a mask, a blue or black long-sleeve shirt, dark long pants, stands about 5’8”-5’10” and is skinny.
Blas said the department is asking members of the community who have information about this crime to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 234-7272.
Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for any information leading to the resolution of a crime.
