Sandy Beach Homes on schedule

Triple J Enterprises president and chief operating officer Jeffrey B. Jones said on Friday, “The speed of the project is amazing.”

He added, “We’re thankful that Black [Construction] and also the government agencies being able to work together to get this project up and going so quickly. It was very essential to have good team work. It is one of the things that’s evident with the speed of the project.”

Jones said Triple J has been a part of the community for a long time. “We have done business in the community for a long time. This is one way we can give back to the community by offering affordable housing.”

Sandy Beach Homes is a good project as commercial development helps the local economy as well as the community in providing more housing options, he added.

During the topping off ceremony, Gov. Benigno R. Fitial praised the project.

“This $28.2 million project exemplifies the fullness of significantly spurring economic development in a time of recession and creating permanent employment opportunities,” he said.

Sandy Beach Homes LLC representative Mike Sablan said, “We are pleased with the progress of Sandy Beach Homes.”

He told Variety, “It has been a challenging period getting all the construction components together and the permitting components and financing.”

He also acknowledged the support they are getting from CNMI agencies.

Black Construction vice president Leonard Kaae said: “With a proposed 374 calendar day program, we are currently 270 days and we are happy to say we are ahead of schedule for a project turn-over date of Dec. 15, 2011.”

The project had a target date of completion of Dec. 31.
