Bart Jackson
THE Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations last week endorsed Gov. Arnold I. Palacios’ nomination of Bridge Capital Vice President Bartley “Bart” Jackson to the Commonwealth Ports Authority Board of Directors.
The Senate, in its session today, Friday, Feb. 14, is expected to act on Jackson’s nomination.
In its report on Feb. 6, 2025, the EAGI committee, chaired by Sen. Frank Q. Cruz, stated that all the required documents had been submitted for review and consideration. Based on the review of the documents submitted, including drug test results, criminal records and statement of financial disclosure, the committee “concludes that it did not find anything that would be inconsistent with the constitutional or statutory provisions of the Commonwealth with this nomination.”
The committee “expresses [its] consent to advance the nomination of Mr. Bartley A. Jackson to serve as a member of the Commonwealth Ports Authority Board of Directors representing the Third Senatorial District.”
The other members of the committee are Senate Vice President Karl King-Nabors, Senate Floor Leader Donald Manglona, and Sens. Ronnie M. Calvo and Corina Magofna.
If confirmed, Jackson will serve the remaining term of former CPA Chair Jose C. Ayuyu, who resigned last year after a majority of the CPA board elected Ramon A. Tebuteb as the new chair.
A longtime resident of the Marianas, Jackson is a former general manager of PIC Saipan and a previous board member of the Marianas Visitors Authority and the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands. On Guam, he was a board member of the Guam Visitors Bureau and served as chair of the Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association.
