Staff, teachers surprise Hopwood administrators with gifts, appreciation

They surprised school principal Jonas Barcinas as well as vice princpials John Pialur, Dominic Camacho  and Epi Cabrera with  fruit baskets.

“Clearly, when you visit or simply pass by the campus, you can already see some improvements as part of the principal’s vision and mission to facelift the campus so students can feel that they are in a comfortable and safe campus unlike the building that we had before,” the teachers and staff said.

They said they are grateful to have a highly motivated and  visionary leader, referring to Barcinas.

Barcinas, for his part, credited Education Commission Rita A. Sablan and her Public School System leadership team  for the many  improvements implemented at Hopwood and other public schools.

“No one should be left behind as they all contributed to the successes of the campus one way or another,” Barcinas said.

Hopwood’s  staff and teachers also thanked and expressed their appreciation to former teachers and staff.

The PSS leadership, Barcinas said, has set goals for all schools regarding the renovation, maintenance, and repairs of old buildings.

He said Hopwood still has some concerns in terms of repairs, maintenance and renovation of  restrooms and walkways.

The windows of  the PE buildings and Building D also need to be changed, he added.

He reported that  during the Mathcourt competition held at the school, Hopwood students won first to fifth places.

He thanked Hopwood advisors particularly of the math department for ensuring that their students who were good in math could showcase their skills and represent Hopwood with pride and confidence.
