Swan Lake and Ballet Concert tonight

To perform “Swan Lake” tonight and tomorrow night at the same time and venue are four top dancers from Russia and Korea along with the 45 students from the Glusko’s Academy of Performing Arts, and a Chinese ballet dancer who just joined the group.

Seoul Universal Ballet Academy director Kun Hye Kyung who accompanied the two Korean ballet dancers An Joo Woon and Ki Su Ji said that both ballet dancers are thrilled to be performing for the audience.

“It is both their first time to be here and they are in love with the isalnd,” Kyung said. She added that Woon and Ji had been dancing ballet for the past five years.

“We want to show what the Universal Ballet Academy has to offer in terms of top performance,” she said.

Ana Glushko, Glushko’s Academy of Performing Arts instructor and event director said that the two ballet dancers from Russia—Daniie Kurynov and Natalia Kolosova, have been on Saipan in 2004.

Glushko said that the pair had been working together for some time.

“We invite the community to come and watch our top ballet dancers in another spectacular performance of the Swan Lake,” Glushko said.

Swan Lake is one world’s most beautiful and popular ballet classics that tells the story of a prince who goes hunting and sees a white swan in the lake.

He falls in love with the swan, who was really a beautiful princess under the spell of an evil sorcerer.

Come and join the ballet dancers for two hours of enthralling performance tonight or tomorrow night.

Local artist Joe Weaver painted a huge mural as the backdrop for tonight’s show.

She added that Swan Lake features the musical compositions of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Tickets for the Swan Lake performances are $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12 years old and can be purchased at all Shell gas station outlets on Saipan, Gourmet Restaurant, Shenanigans in Garapan, 360 Restaurant, Manic Inn in Susupe, and Kevin’s Department Store in Chalan Kanoa.
