Swimming, exercise, wellness allowed at beach

He said the directive was amended to allow for individual exercise and wellness activities, both physical and mental, as well as shoreline subsistence fishing methods such as talaya and rod and reel, but still subject to the social distancing requirements of the governor’s Second Amended Executive Order 2020-04.

According to Bautista, “Individuals can go swimming and get some fresh air at the beach in the interest of exercise and wellness.” But beach parties and gatherings are still prohibited, he added. “We also advise residents to not swim in groups and to always practice social distancing. Governor Torres understands the importance of exercise and wellness as a part of one’s health routine. We ask residents to not take advantage of this and to follow all updates from the governor’s Covid-19 Task Force and CHCC.”
