Superior Court Associate Judge Perry B. Inos imposed a one-year jail term on the 31-year-old Amirez, but all suspended with credit for time already served.
The court also placed Amirez on one-year supervised probation.
Amirez, a Tanapag resident, was required to pay a $100 fine, a $25 court assessment fee, and a probation fee to be determined by the Adult Probation Office.
It was not mentioned in Inos’ judgment and commitment order if Amirez will pay restitution to the CNMI government.
The Attorney General’s Office charged Amirez with one count of receiving stolen property — copper wire owned by the CNMI government amounting to less than $250.
Assistant Attorney General Echolon Golob, the prosecutor, and the defense counsel, Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller, earlier informed the court that the parties had reached a pretrial disposition of the case, and that Amirez would enter a plea of guilty to the offense as charged.
