“We are up-to-date in paying our obligations to CUC,” Cruz told Variety, adding that the disconnection was probably ordered by CUC Executive Director Antonio S. Muna as “retaliation” against the outspoken Taotao Tano leader.
Cruz, who has been very critical of CUC’s management, said he felt sorry for the crew who were sent out to do the “dirty work.”
“At the end of the day these employees carry all those pain and suffering of the consumers they meet each day while disconnecting residences,” he said.
He said the disconnection order of Muna, administrative specialist Grina Mizutani and power division acting manager Gary Camacho is “quite disturbing.”
“They still have a nerve to disconnect the power and water supplies after giving out all these power outages that are making the lives of the people miserable,” Cruz said.
He said while he was talking to the CUC personnel who were about to disconnect his power and water supplies, they received a call from the utilities agency advising them to cancel the disconnection.
The CUC crew had already cut his water connection but it was reconnected later.
According to Cruz, CUC should sympathize with their customers who have to endure daily power outages while paying high power rates.
Taotao Tano, he added, will continue to disclose whatever irregularities it can find in the transactions of CUC.
“They can never take down the Taotao Tano,” Cruz said.
