Group president Muhammad Mizanur Rahman said they regularly transport tourists to DFS based on an agreement.
However, he added, for the past years DFS has not increased the fare they used to collect from the establishment.
The taxi association is operating in almost all hotels on Saipan, and in the seaport and airport.
DFS pays the fare of tourists brought by taxis to the establishment.
Before, Rahman said, they also get a commission but DFS has already stopped this scheme.
“We hope that DFS could either increase the fare or restore the commission scheme,” he added.
Due to the fuel price increases and the many illegal taxis operating on island, legitimate taxi operators are suffering, he said.
“It’s hard for us even to make $40 a day,” the group’s secretary Muhammad Abdul Momen said.
He said they are trying hard to survive each day.
