‘Thank you NMI delegate candidates & Saipan Chamber of Commerce’

THE NMI Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands would like to thank the Saipan Chamber of Commerce, the 2024 candidates for NMI U.S. delegate, along with everyone that made the debate a success this past Tuesday night.

Thank you for providing a platform for candidates to speak to voters about their plans and policies should they be elected.

“The event was well attended by members of our party, and we were very happy with our candidate’s performance. Rep. Edwin Propst is the only candidate with experience in the legislature as he has served the people of the CNMI for more than four terms now. His legislative record speaks for itself, and we believe he has earned the right to lead us in Washington. I urge voters to visit his website at edpropst.com and read his areas of focus with regards to Education, Transportation, and Housing Assistance. Learn more about him, his family and his community service because he and his family have contributed so much to our communities without ever asking anything in return,” said Party Vice Chair Luella Marciano.

Treasurer Shawna Indalecio also shares her supportive comments. “He has the endorsements from both the governor, lieutenant governor, his colleagues in the House, the Senate, and the honorable Kilili Sablan who has chosen him as his successor. Having served eight terms and more than a decade in Washington, D.C., nobody knows the position more than Kilili Sablan. We need Ed to be on the right side of history caucusing with our Democrats and getting the job done. Ed can get it done, and we are excited for the work he’ll do on a bigger stage.”

“All I know is the CNMI has come a long way and we would not be where we are without Ed’s fight for our people. He is the only candidate that fought for all of us against corruption pertaining to the misuse and abuse of public funds, unlawful CUC contracts, unlawful casino commission practices and so much more. He is the only candidate with the tenacity, and bravery to question those in power. That’s the kind of champion we need. A fighter who’s been there since day one and will not stay silent on issues that matter. I think his plans are a step in the right direction, and I’m glad he’s on the right team that’s fighting for issues that affect us all with actual policies for Healthcare, Education, Women’s Rights, Gun Control etc. I ask the voters to remember the work he’s done, the challenges ahead of us, vote for the candidate that has Kilili’s blessings and will continue the legacy,” said Executive Director Nola Hix.
