Cabrera said farmers have lost their fertilizers and livestock to thieves.
Yesterday, the farmer’s group turned over to the Neighborhood Watch Task Force a check for $300 to fund its anti-crime programs.
He expressed gratitude to the task force for its anti-crime and peace advocacy.
“I hope the task force will continue to work together with the community in fighting against criminality,” he said.
During its regular meeting, the task force headed by its chairman Sgt. Vicente Sablan gave recognition to Docomo Pacific and Pacific Trading Co. for providing caps and banners to the group’s information drive.
Docomo sales marketing manager James Nelson and Pacific Trading sales marketing manager Mike Babauta received certificates of recognition from the task force.
Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council Chairman and one of the prime movers of the task force, Ramon B. Camacho, said the support from businesses indicates a growing concern about crimes on island.
“I hope more businessmen will come forward to support the undertaking and campaign against crime,” he said.
The donated caps will be distributed to task force members who will join the Liberation Day parade on July 4 while the banners will be displayed on their float.
Saipan Republican Reps. Joseph M. Palacios and Eliceo D. Cabrera attended the task force meeting and expressed their support for the peace advocacy program.
Palacios has donated flyers encouraging members of the community to join the fight against crime.
Task force members will be distributing the leaflets during the Liberation Day parade.
Palacios and Cabrera are active members of the Dandan Neighborhood Watch Task Force headed by Frank B. Camacho.
