He is also formally seeking the “cooperation” of incumbent Mayor Jose P. San Nicolas.
“I thank you for your cooperation to make the transition smooth and orderly and for instructing your resident department heads to assist and cooperate with my transition team,” read part of Dela Cruz’s letter to San Nicolas.
Dela Cruz named former Mayor Francisco M. Borja as chairman of the transition committee.
“Chairman Borja will communicate with your chief executive officer to schedule dates for out committee chairs to meet with your resident department heads and mayor’s office senior staff,” Dela Cruz told San Nicolas.
Dela Cruz said the transition team is obliged to present a final transition report to him and the Tinian leadership-elect no later than Jan. 4, 2010.
The transition report will guide the development of an action plan for the new administration, according to Dela Cruz.
He said Borja will be assisted by Peter Q. Cruz Jr., as vice chairman.
Dela Cruz also created subcommittees that are obliged to compile reports to be submitted to the transition chairman no later than Dec. 22, 2009.
The subcommittee chairs will select their membership, Dela Cruz said.
The subcommittees: inauguration, under Ignacio K. Quichocho; mayor’s office, Allen Perez; capital improvement projects, Don Farrell; legislative review, Peter Cruz Jr.; departmental review, Lydia Barcinas; and education, Diana Borja.
