Tinsel town on Guam

We just want to see the general turnout of talent locally because we had such a fantastic turnout with the first movie. We know that Guam is full of talented people, but at the same time we know how difficult it can be for them to come out and showcase their talent as good as they are,” Ken Muna said.“This first phase is simply to see what we’re working with and from there we’ll figure out scheduling stuff like availability because a lot of times people are committed to their jobs. Only until we find a cast will we know more how far we can take the movie,” Don Muna added.

The event coincided with the launch of Uno Magazine’s movie-theme issue for June.

One guest was dressed up as a hooker, playing Julia Roberts from “Pretty Woman.” A couple dressed up as Superman and Super Girl.

The contestants of the Miss Earth Guam 2010 contestants were also present to greet guests and promote the pageant to be held this Wednesday night at the Sheraton Laguna Resort and Spa.

One of the people who went up for the casting call was Billy Navarrate, 21, of Yigo.“Honestly, my friend told me to come here and try it out. I really don’t know what to expect,” he said. “I guess I’ll be up for anything if I get a part.”

The Muna brothers declined to disclose details of their new project. “It wouldn’t be fair to say something now,” Don Muna said.

His brother said the project is “100 percent local,” like the first project “Shiro’s Head.”

Once everything is in place and the cast is complete, they hope to start production sometime early next year.

“We hope to get a solid cast, to find our cast within the next two to three months hopefully and from there we’ll be running them through the wringer,” Don Muna said.
