Tropical Depression 11W was located north of Pohnpei near 13 degrees north, 159 degrees east or about 940 miles east of Guam and Saipan.
This system was steadily developing and was expected to intensify into a tropical storm within the next 12 to 24 hours.
Weather forecast guidance indicates Tropical Depression 11W will move slowly northwest over the next two to three days toward the Northern Islands of the CNMI.
No watches or warnings were in effect for the CNMI.
Residents of the CNMI will experience more wet weather starting late Thursday night and northwest winds of 15 miles per hour.
Fitial is reminding the general public, including those in the northern islands of Agrihan, Alamagan and Pagan, to closely follow the progress of Tropical Depression 11W through the CNMI Emergency Management Office and local media sources because significant changes in movement and intensity can often occur during the early stages of development.
