US diplomat attends WWII relic memorial dedication in Yap

The family members of the American pilot were also on island to attend and witness the dedication ceremony which took place at the site where the wreckage of the plane flown by Cox from Idaho had been displayed.

Also attending the dedication were Yap Gov. Sebstian Anefal, U.S. Cmdr. Bryce Gibb, and the 89-year-old brother of the pilot, Ellis Cox of Idaho.

The memorial dedication took place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the newly constructed display site near the Public Works building on Yap.
