USCIS to hold public meetings

Marie Thérèse Sebrechts, USCIS regional media manager, said USCIS officials will be on hand to answer questions about the federalization law’s impact on the presence of foreign workers and their employers.

“Each meeting will last about two hours, the first hour providing an overview of general U.S. immigration benefits and the second hour specifically covering the employer requirements, specifically use of the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. All training is free and open to all members of the public,” she said in a statement.

The schedule of the meetings:

• Dec. 4., Saipan’s American Memorial Park, at 9 a.m. and at 5 p.m.

• Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. and at 3 p.m. also at the park.

• Dec. 6, 10 a.m., same venue

• Dec. 7 at 9 a.m. and at 5 p.m., same venue

• Dec. 8 and 9, Rota Round House, 5 p.m., for workers.

• Dec. 9 and 10, same venue, for employers, 9 a.m.

• Dec. 11 and 12, Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino’s ballroom, 5 p.m.

• Dec. 11 and 12, same venue, 9 a.m., for  employers
