USNS Salvor postpones Yap visit

Yap needed assistance from the U.S. Navy to remove the stranded MV Cecilia.

The USNS Salvor will only conduct an assessment  to determine if it can assist and remove the commercial vessel.

But FSM has been informed recently that the mission has been postponed until further notice.

The USNS Salvor is 225-foot long with one naval officer, nine civilian officers, 20 unlicensed crewmembers and 19 enlisted men.

Its commanding officer is Capt. David C. Bradshaw.
