Vacancy for community specialist certified

A communication from the administration certified a vacancy for a community development specialist at the Division of Youth Services which is under the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs.

“The filling of this vacant position is of vital importance for the efficient delivery of essential public services.

Continuing appropriations are available for the full personnel cost associated with this vacancy,” acting Gov. Eloy S. Inos wrote to the Legislature, a copy of which was transmitted on May 26.

Several other communications certifying vacancies in different agencies of the executive branch were also brought to the Legislature’s attention.

The CNMI government continues to operate based on a $148 million continuing budget resolution.

The proposed budget for fiscal year 2011 was set at $132 million as the government’s tax collections continue to fall.
