Volunteers clean up Kristo Rai church

He is grateful for the time and efforts of 15 volunteers who participated in the general cleanup of the church and is inviting other churchgoers to join the cleanup today.

From 8 a.m. to late afternoon yesterday, volunteers were seen removing dust and dirt from the church’s walls, ceiling fans, the ceiling itself, the carpet, chairs and figurines.

According to Alparce, the church no longer looked pleasant because of the cobwebs, dust and dirt.

“While cleaning the place we were surprised to find out that there was so much dirt,” he said.

He did not expect that the activity would take a long time to complete because of the amount of dirt they had to remove.

Alparce is satisfied with the result of the cleanup and is hoping that it will be finished today.

A parishioner, who declined to be identified, said yesterday was the first time the church was cleaned up.

He said he is grateful to Alparce for his initiative to have the church cleaned.

Kristo Rai Parish is also asking soil donations from the community for its landscape improvement project, which aims to fill the garden boxes in front of the church with soil.

Alparce said it is the duty and obligation of the faithful to make their place of worship beautiful since it is God’s house.

He is thankful for those who joined the cleanup and donated lunch for the volunteers.
